What does the Junior Suite Penthouse Ocean Front Rooftop terrace look out on?
The suite faces the water, with panoramic ocean front views from its private, furnished rooftop terrace. Akumal Bay Beach & Wellness Resort sits directly on Akumal Bay, which has almost a mile of white sand. The bay is sheltered by sections of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, so the water in front of you is known for calm snorkeling.
How do you use the rooftop terrace and private hot tub?
The terrace is private to your suite and furnished, and the outdoor hot tub is yours alone. It is a quiet spot for a morning coffee from the in-room espresso maker or an evening soak. Note that the resort's separate spa hot tub, sauna and steam room are for spa guests only, so the private tub is your own option for soaking.
Can children or a single adult stay in the Penthouse Ocean Front suite?
No. This category is adults only: minors are not accepted, and neither is a single adult alone, so it is booked for two adult guests. The rest of Akumal Bay Beach & Wellness Resort is family-friendly, with a Kids' Club for ages 4 to 12 and a children's pool. Families can enjoy the resort but would need a different room category.
What is the bed setup and how many guests does the suite sleep?
The suite has one king bed and sleeps 2 guests. A pillow menu lets you choose how you sleep, and nightly turndown service is part of the stay. The living space is separate from the bed, so one of you can stay up with the 65-inch TV while the other sleeps. The resort has no cribs, which fits an adults-only suite.
What is the bathroom like?
It is a private bathroom with a shower. It is stocked with designer toiletries including shampoo and soap, plus bathrobes, slippers, towels and a hair dryer. The suite also has an iron and ironing board and electrical adapters, which helps if you are travelling from abroad.

How close is the suite to the beach, pools and restaurants?
The resort's 310 oceanfront junior suites are spread across four beachfront buildings on Akumal Bay, so the shore is close wherever you are. There are four pools, three of them quieter ones near the waterfront buildings, and pool hours run 8:00 to 20:00. The buffet serves breakfast 7:00–10:00, lunch 12:00–15:00 and dinner 17:30–22:30. The à la carte restaurants serve dinner from 18:00 to 22:30 and need no reservation.
Is this suite a good choice for couples, and what should we know about noise?
It suits couples, with a private terrace, a hot tub and a wellness focus. The resort has the I'na Yana K'iin Spa, a 24-hour fitness center and morning yoga. Evening entertainment includes a live band in the Lobby Bar from 20:00 to 22:30 and the Disco Bar from 21:00 to 02:00. Your private terrace gives you somewhere quieter to retreat to.
What are the check-in details and how do we get to the resort?
Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is at noon. Late check-out may be possible if arranged in advance with reception. At least one guest must be 18 or older, and photo ID plus a card or deposit may be needed for incidentals. The resort is on Highway 307 at Km 254. Cancún International Airport is roughly 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes away by road, and airport transfers are available for a surcharge. Free self-parking is on site.
